Our Vision & Mission

“Quality Palliative Care for All… Because we care!”

Our Mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and dignified care that nurtures the mind, body, and soul—affirming life while embracing death as a natural process.

Core Values & Philosophy

Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Transparency, and Professionalism.

We offer holistic, person-centred care that respects each individual’s story. We believe in preserving dignity, supporting families, and being a constant presence through life’s most delicate moments—without hastening or delaying death.

Holistic care, dignity in dying, support without hastening or postponing death, mental and spiritual preparation.

Nelspruit Hospice is deeply rooted in the community it serves.

  • Founded: Born out of compassion and necessity in November 2005, Nelspruit Hospice officially began caring for patients in August 2006 from a small house at 7 Rothery Street.
  • Our Home: In 2015, thanks to the generosity of donors and local businesses, we purchased and lovingly converted a house at 84 Ferreira Street into a welcoming, purpose-driven space now known as Nelspruit Hospice House.
  • What We’ve Achieved: With the trust and support of the Lowveld community, we’ve raised over R5 million and earned a four-star rating from the Hospice Palliative Care Association (HPCA).
  • Lives Touched: Over the past 15+ years, we’ve had the honour of walking alongside nearly 1,000 patients and their families on some of life’s most vulnerable journeys.
  • Support Beyond Medical Care: Our care extends beyond physical needs—we host bereavement support groups and deliver ongoing palliative care training to ensure dignity in both life and death.
